Since Suzanne lives in the area she is able to provide up-to-date information and is an expert on the homes available on the lake. She was always available to show us homes, which was important to us since we were living in 2 separate parts of the state during our transition of buying and selling. We looked at many houses over a 5 month period and we were undecided on a lakefront home or one with acreage on the outskirts of town. Her positive attitude, patience and ability to keep us focused during a difficult time was a blessing. She got to know us and knew what home was perfect for us before we even figured it out. She kept telling us how great it was on Lake Talquin.
Well, we absolutely LOVE IT! We chose a remote area on the south side of the lake in a cove off the main lake. We wanted the quiet area that Lake Talquin State Forest had to offer on a large wooded lot. The house is situated so the main level looks into the tree tops and lake. We enjoy watching the deer, wild turkey, hawks, osprey, hummingbirds, owls, eagles and many different water birds, turtles warming in the sun… We also enjoy the beautiful sunsets as we come in from fishing. The bream have been great to eat and the bass are exciting to catch. (You can see my big catch in the intro)
Thank you Suzanne for finding us heaven on earth!
We had been considering a house at Lake Talquin for several years to be used primarily as a weekend retreat and to accommodate family gatherings. We met with Suzanne to visit some of her listings and became impressed by her willingness to listen as we tried to express what we were looking for even when we didn’t really know. She continued to work with us for almost 2 years. She willingly continued to show us houses on our timetable until the right one came on the market. The day our future lake house was listed she immediately recognized that it was perfect for us, and contacted us that evening while we were eating dinner, we met her at the house and made an offer that night. She was available throughout the closing process to facilitate inspections, help clarify terms, and anything else that was needed relating to the transaction. Working with Suzanne in finding and purchasing our lake house was a pleasure. Suzanne is an excellent realtor and more importantly a caring person and new friend.
We bought our current home on the Chipola River in January 2006 and became Florida residents in late 2007. As we traveled to Tallahassee for FSU football games and other errands, we soon realized that we would like to buy or build a house on Lake Talquin.
Even though we did not expect to buy on Lake Talquin for several years, Suzanne McGhee was willing to show us various properties, learning our preferences as we shopped. Taking advantage of the depressed market this past January, Suzanne found a property that we could purchase before we sold our house in Atlanta. The property was exactly what we wanted, with an elevated view of the lake.
Not only does Suzanne give caring and professional services as a real estate agent, she also acts as a friend in recommending other professionals and services needed by her clients, right down to doctors.
Thank you, Suzanne, for your caring expertise as a realtor and your friendship.
Dear Suzanne: You drove with us all over town to view many different houses, and turned what for many people is a stressful experience into a pleasant experience. Even after driving to so many different properties for months to show us a plethora of homes, when we told you we were going to wait another year to buy a house, rather than act disappointed, you understood, and that meant a lot.
Several weeks after telling you that, you showed up to a property we were bursting with excitement about within only a few hours on no notice on a weekend right in the middle of your attending a get together. That day you worked out a deal so that we would be the first in line to make sure our offer would be accepted before any competing offers could enter the picture. If this doesn’t show due diligence, I don’t know what does.
Our family has purchased both an average priced home and a moderately expensive home from you, and in both cases, regardless of the list price, we received the same level of dedication we would have received had we been buying or selling a million dollar house. Whether we choose to buy or sell a higher priced or lower priced property in the future, I have confidence that we will be treated with graceful respect and diligence in every circumstance.
We look forward to working with you again in the future.
My husband and I recently bought a home in Havana, Florida. Buying a home is not a new experience for us since we have purchased several in our years together.
However, I must say that purchasing a home in the current housing market was a new experience for us. Not only is the market flooded with all types of homes, but also the condition of homes is not always what it appears to be on the internet.
Suzanne McGhee, our realtor, worked with us for eight months to find a home that we would like. Suzanne is a good listener and is able to develop a sense of what the buyer really likes. Suzanne began to realize the kind of home that I was interested in just by spending time with me inside the homes we visited and by eliminating houses in our search that she felt would not work for me. Even though we looked at many homes, Suzanne was able to cut out a lot of work for us by being perceptive.
Suzanne is very knowledgeable of the area because she has lived here her whole life. That is most helpful in choosing an area where you want to live and also understanding the limitations and advantages of the local communities.
It was a pleasure to work with Suzanne. Also from the business perspective, Suzanne understands real estate and the responsibilities of both the buyer and the seller and she is able to communicate that effectively so that parties understand what their obligations are in the real estate process.
I know that we found our home because of Suzanne’s diligence and attention to detail on finding a home for us. I am not sure that someone else would have been as helpful and persistent as Suzanne. For that we are grateful!
