Located in Gadsden County just 14 miles from Tallahassee is the Town of Havana. This beautiful area is known for the incredible antique shopping, specialty boutiques and art galleries. It has been called one of Florida’s friendliest small towns and even offers plenty of history.
The town was founded in 1906 and was originally supported by the tobacco industry. However, it has evolved into a town of more than 30 shops with all kinds of antiques and other offerings. The North Florida Arts Trail runs through the town and a number of historic buildings are found on the trail.
In addition, Havana is full of great restaurants and small cafes to enjoy. The location, right off U.S. 27 makes it convenient for residents to enjoy Tallahassee, as well. It’s also found just a few minutes from I-10.

Broken Shell Boutique is one of the newer choices, while other stores, such as Mirror Image Antiques and H&H Furniture and Design have been around for many years.
The Planters Exchange is one of the best places to go for antiques in the entire state. Its home to about 30 dealers with plenty of items to find in this building dating back to 1928. The building has even been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Havana, Florida is a very friendly small town with plenty to offer. It’s close enough to Tallahassee for residents to enjoy big city amenities whenever they want, but far enough away to maintain a small town charm. Those seeking a small, friendly town will enjoy living in the Town of Havana.
